• What is TheSherpa?

TheSherpa is a blog of incoherent ramblings by me, TheSherpa. There is no real meaning behind the TheSherpa, the blog, except for me to laugh, opine and sometimes whine.

But, really, this is just a place for me to let my other personalities out of their dungeon to play a little. However, as hard as I try to try to respect others views and opinions, there is no guarantee. Feel free to feel offended. :]

My kitties ∑:·)

So this weekend, I just laid around with my cats. I have three cats. First, Cassanova. A Norwegian Forest Cat who lives his namesake. He has tux markings and is so suave and debonaire. He love everyone… If you sit down for more than a moment, he will kiss you.

Tigris Euphrates is my second. Yes he is the meeting of two rivers and marked like an African tiger, but with the spine of a jellyfish. He just sleeps, nothing else, just sleeps.

Then there is Daxious, or Dax for short. She is a beautiful miniature Turkish Van, similar to an Angora, but a bit more rare. Anyway, Dax has the softest, finest black fur. Her tail is as long as she is and when she climbs, and believe me, she climbs everything, it flutters like a pretty little ribbon in the breeze. Dax is my little princess. : )

So, anyway, we, my cats and I, took some time, opened the curtains in my bedroom that face south and found a nice spot on the floor to stretch out and enjoy the sun, at least until it started snowing, then we just enjoyed playing together. It was a really nice, relaxing weekend. If my life could always be this good… I would be in heaven.

1st US black newspaper, Freedom’s Journal, in New York, begins publishing.

Doin’ a bit better :)

I went and hung with my best friends Tyler and Ali today. They have two kids, Axel Jack, who is three and Sheridan who is barely one. I am known as their uncle Corey as we are like family.

Jack and I played a game of chess against the computer, which is not generally such a hard win for me, but he wanted me to ‘get’ specific pieces as he called them… so we ended up winning by taking out every piece one by one. It was cute, he would call out a rook, but not want me to get a pawn that was in the way. So, I had to devise ways to call out each piece, it was fun.

Shay decided she wanted me to read her stories and every time we would get to a horse or pony she would ‘nay’ like a horse. She is also learning to sign, and everything she signs looks the same right now. It is kind of funny to see her frustration when we don’t understand her. Jack learned to sign at about the same age, and it made communication so much easier.

I cannot believe how much these two kids impact my life. Gosh dang it, they make me smile. Anyway here are some pics of Jack and me making faces at my MacBook Pro… enjoy.

The Beatles performed for the first time on the BBC in Great Britain. John, Paul, George and Pete Best sang “Dream Baby” on the show, “Teenager’s Turn” on ‘Auntie Beeb’ (as the BBC was known).

:\

I am going to go eat a cookie, curl up in the corner and listen to Coldplay.

Today in History - March 5th, 1750

The first Shakespearean play in America was presented at the Nassau Street Theatre in New York City. The play enjoyed by the audience was the famous “King Richard III.”

The Landlord

Water, fire, burn… Snow!?

Thats right, I go all the way back to the pre-’96 dance club scene… In fact that is where I met this beautiful green eyed brunette that I still can’t get out of my mind… Anyway, what does that have to do with snow you might ask yourself?

Well, I was in my car today and had to stop to fill it with gas. I have gotten over the bitterness of not being able to hit the slopes with my buddies, but today, the snow was coming down so hard and the wind was blowing so fiercely that I had a twinge of primordial hate for everyone who was enjoying the 70+ inches of fresh powder we have received in the last week.

But alas, I just stood there freezing my ass off filling my car with the most expensive gasoline I think I have bought to date. Its all good though, I just paid off my last major debt, so all I have left are my student loans. (21K ) I have a great job, I am selling one company I own and purchasing another company to add to my portfolio.  These are good times. Now all I need to do is get my feet in working order, get back to the gym, and start enjoying the life I am working so hard to build.

Oh and opinions are needed here. I am going to buy myself a new LCD TV, something like a 50+”. I really want this big ass 73″ I saw, it was gorgeous, but everyone is telling me it is too big for my place. I live in a townhouse with an average sized front room, the couches would be about ten or so feet from the TV. Now, I think this would make for an amazing viewing experience, but the question is; would sitting this close to a 73″ TV make you sick? What about a 50″? (Discount watching Cloverfield on it, a 10″ screen would make just about anyone sick…)

Oh, and have a great Valentines day all!
