Chillin’

It Snowed! Okay, so it snowed at my townhouse… it has been snowing in the mountains for the last few weeks. But I am still excited because I can see it. I am now itching to grab my snowboard and hit the slopes.
Here is Utah, where we DO have the best snow, the resorts open right about Thanksgiving. I am too lazy and too old to hike to the top of the peaks anymore just for the first run of the year. So, I have been waiting for this for a long time. I love winter, it is so dead and white. The trees and canyons look… just perfect.
My cat, Dax, a miniature black Turkish Van, asks every day if she can go out and play in the back yard. My cats are indoor cats, so I have a private fenced backyard and a common area that she can play in while supervised. It was snowing, and my other two cats, Cassanova and Tigger are old enough not to even ask when the weather is bad, but Dax, only four in October, is begging to go out.
I decided to give in and open the back door. She ran out, stopped dead in her tracks at the edge of the step and got this disgusted look on her face. She looked at me and meows for me to fix it. As she is such a princess and gets everything she asks for, she naturally expects me to make it warmer. Well, that day I did not have control over the elements, and even if I did I would not have changed it. So Dax has been a grumpy, angry little black cat ever since. If a cat could flip you off with a look, well, Dax has perfected that look…
Other than that, Winter has set in. And I am happy about that.
